Goodbye to Joy and Roger

Eyes on the prize ... again

Two of our friends are moving away, so we got together to climb for a few days. Originally we planned to
climb in Squamish, which would have been sick, but a storm blew in and was going to dump on the west Cascades.
The last minute changes of plans took us to Leavenworth. Even though it wasn't Squamish we all had a good time.
Some things to remember:

1. This is why I am hot ... This is why you are not
2. Crickets and Moths
3. Crazy wildlife, rattle snakes, lizards and a praying mantis
4. All of the skin lost at Peshastin Pinnacles
5. River showers
6. Trucker showers
7. Joy doing backflips off that v3 ... pretty much
8. 'He is hopping mad' -DS
9. Stupid highballs
10. New guidebook excitement
11. Whose block of chalk is this?
12. Send trainage
13. Push starting the dirtbagging Dodge Caravan
14. Muffing in the campground
15. The house tent
16. Der Starbucks

Woodland Park Zoo

Lions

Sandra and I went to the Woodland Park Zoo this weekend. It was nice and relaxing to walk around outside in the nice weather. We could have probably chosen a better day to go as most of the animals were inactive because of the heat. Towards evening the animals were a little more active because it was cooling down, so we went back to see some of the animals we had seen already. By this time the male lion had woken up and was roaring. I guess he was hungry and calling for dinner, but his female partner was still napping. After taking this trip to the zoo I have noticed that I need to get a telephoto lens, so that I can get better close up photos.

I have been working a lot recently. I am getting a little burned out, but we may get nominated for some awards once this project goes through. I am not sure if this award will help getting staffed on projects, but I do not want to give up the chance for award just yet, so I am working through it.

I also got out of a hefty speeding ticket thanks to a nice officer the other night. I guess since no one else was on the road and it was pretty late he cut me some slack. I was appreciative as I would have had to pay for my previous ticket as well. Anyways, I am slowly learning all the lessons about owning cars and figuring out why parents do not want their kids to buy fast cars. Needless to say I will be driving slower for a while.
