Late night hilariousness

Jon K: Have you heard of matis yahu?

Jon F: (pauses for sec and blinks eyes) No, no, not unless it is some sort of
brake search engine.

(the confusion came from my mispronunciation as more of a meitas yahu and less of a mawtis yahu). Still funny in the end.

A Friday in the Life

Back by popular demand. I seemed to have a lot of comments on my last blog entry. I thought I would do it again ... very soon after. This time, I put the photos in my photo gallery. Here is a day in the life 2.

Let me know which format you like better. In the gallery or in my blog. When I do this again I will know which format you guys like.

A Day in the Life

I thought I might give everyone a glimpse into my life during the week.

At sometime around 11:00 am, give or take an hour, I will head down my street.

Turn right at the stairs and head to the bus stop.

Hopefully I catch my bus, here I am (I caught the bus) heading to Ballard.

Usually I catch the 44 right away, but there were some old people on the bus, so I missed it. Unfortunately I had to get coffee instead.

Here I am waiting for the bus. Is there time to get something at Dennys? (Only if I want to miss all my classes)

Ah, on the bus, now time for my favorite reading material.

Going up Phinney Ridge, looking back at Queen Anne.

I made it to campus, only 25 minutes late! I better step on it.

Good old George Washington. Surprisingly you can climb this statue (without ropes either).

Heading towards the CSE building overlooking Rainier Vista. This is usually a nice view, but today the fountain was not on and there were too many clouds to see Mt. Rainer.

I have always wondered if this was able to be climbed.

Headed back home. Crossing Red Square to catch the bus.

In Ballard headed to Starbucks before I get on the bus again.

Got off the bus at the bottom of my hill ... just waiting to cross the street. Seems like I do a lot of waiting during the day.

Headed up the hill past the crack house. Recently I saw a prostitute get arrested here on my walk home.

Back up the stairs.

Take a left and head up the street.

Home sweet home. Open the door ...

Let the cats out and relax.

So its been a while

This past week has been a barrel of fun, but a lot of work too. I have been staying at school late recently because of my homework projects in my Vision and my OS classes. In OS we have been implementing a user thread library. The coding was not so hard, but it took a little while to think about the synchronization problems. The assignment in my vision class has been interesting as well. We created a program to take images and stitch them into a panorama. Here is a panorama of images I took at Golden Gardens Park in Seattle.

My brother picked up some climbing harnesses at REI today. I am pumped to be able to do some top roping now. It is not so hard on the joints and there are a lot more places to do top roping outdoors in Washington and ..... Thailand. I hope that Eric and I can vacation there for a while after I graduate.

So, our dad has moved out of the place here. That has been some pretty big news in the last couple months. He lives on San Juan Island now. We actually lived there before moving to Seattle, so I think it is better for him ... more relaxing. It has been pretty windy up there also. Just this week a tree that was scheduled to be taken down fell over on the house.
